Speaker

Mary Ann Metz

For several years I was co-owner of a small garden center with a fellow plant nut. Most recently I returned to school to study landscape design and had my own consulting and design business until this year. I have taught community education classes at Parkland College, conducted seminars at garden centers, given presentations to a number of garden clubs and plant societies throughout the Midwest and “re-arranged” my own garden a number of times. I am a member of the American Conifer Society, American Peony Society, the American Hosta Society, The Maple Society, the Royal Horticulture Society and the American Horticultural Society.

I have been involved with the American Hosta Society for 30 years and am a Master Judge in that society as well as past VP of Member Services. I am also the past VP of the Midwest Regional Hosta Society. Currently I am employed at Prairie Gardens in Champaign assisting with plant production, ordering and sales.

The new location for the spring meeting is First Lutheran Church, 6400 State Line Road, Mission Hills, Kansas
